Drug Interventions and Non 12 Step Rehab

Friday, September 17th, 2010

Are you searching online trying to locate a drug rehab that will work but getting confused with all of the different treatment options? Do you have a loved one who needs to get into treatment immediately? Many of the drug rehabilitation programs take so long to enroll an addicted individual into treatment. In a case like this, a drug intervention is necessary. Drug interventions help people who do not think they have a problem, realize why treatment is necessary. Common reasons people don’t enter into a rehab is they are scared of withdrawal. When a person is scared of withdrawal, then a detox is necessary.

Detox centers will help a person gently taper down from their drug of choice or alcohol so they do not feel any pain or uncomfortable symptoms. Many prescription drugs like anti-anxiety medications and prescription painkillers require a medical detox. Once a person has been properly detoxed than an effective treatment center is necessary.

Finding the right type of drug rehab is final step and the most important one. If the treatment program is no good, then the intervention and detox will be a waste. Investing in an effective drug rehab is vital. Drug and alcohol rehab programs that are best are ones that are long term. Stay away from outpatient centers because they have low success rates. Some of the best rehabs are ones that offer a non 12 step rehab approach. If you need help locating a drug rehab facility, drug intervention or detox, than call one of our counselors today.

We Found A Drug Treatment Program

Friday, August 20th, 2010

I wish I had seen this website years ago… would have probably saved my family and I years of agony searching for the “right” drug treatment rehab. My brother was a heroin addict for 8 years. We struggled month after month trying to help him in finding a detox program. And some months we gave up completely, subscribing to someone’s [bad] advice that it was “his life, and we should let him live it how he wants to live it.”

I finally realized that I was no longer dealing with my brother. He was long gone, and his personality replaced with a new identity controlled entirely by heroin. So “his life” wasn’t being lived the way “he wanted.” It was out of his hands and up to his family to bring him back.

He did out-patient, 30 Day, 28 Day, 12 Steps, Narcotics Anonymous, hospitalized Rapid Opiate Detox (which I would NOT recommend)… you name it, he did it. Eventually we realized that we needed something different, and after dozens of Google searches I discovered that “different” in the drug rehab field is anything non-12 Step (AKA: Alternative Drug Rehab.) I just didn’t buy into these programs that felt his addiction was incurable; that it was only “manageable” with addictive opiate drugs.

He did a long-term drug rehab alternative program tailor-made to his specific dependency. He was away for a good 3 or 4 months, which was hard but necessary. And now our family is complete again. But like I said earlier, if I had you guys helping me out I probably could have cut out weeks and months of searching.

Good luck and God bless to everyone out there searching. I hope you find answers.
